ZTE wins WCDMA network contract from Turkey's AVEA

ZTE Corp, one of the leading provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions in China, announced on Friday that it has won a WCDMA contract from AVEA Co, one of Turkey's three major telecom operators, as part of the company's strategic plan to expand its WCDMA coverage worldwide.

Under the deal, ZTE will deploy its state-of-the-art SDR solutions as part of AVEA's WCDMA commercial network project nationwide, as well as UMTS network which will cover 33 key cities in the country's eastern region.

Shenzhen-based ZTE, which has being expanding its presence in overseas markets, recently also formed partnership with Hong Kong's largest mobile operator CSL Ltd to jointly launch the world's first SDR-based HSPA+ AII IP commercial network in the special administrative region (SAR).
